L'Occitane: Garden in Provence

L'Occitane is one of the famous cosmetic and fragrance brands that use natural ingredients of flowers and other nature resources. This company comes from Provence in France and has its own fields of flowers. On the L'Occitane window display at ION Orchard, Singapore, the VM team tries successfully to portray the beauty of a Provence flower garden. There are the beautiful purple lavenders and the bright yellow immortelles laid on a table. There is also a alembic, a tool used to take the flower essence in order to make a fragrance. This display concept make the L'Occitane boutique become an oasis in the midst of other fast fashion stores that are full with tourists.

Mondial: Romantic garden

Hundreds of white flowers are blooming inside the Mondial window display. There are also dress sculptures in white color that look so feminine and beautiful. Although this garden is really beautiful, it is not a good background to display jewelries collection.

Alain Figaret: High end traveler

Alain Figaret window display for this summer season is about a rich traveler couple. This couple will go to Saint Tropez or Nice and they bring what the rich people wear for holiday.

H&M: Hot summer

The first H&M store in South East Asia had been already opened last year in Singapore with a very great anticipation from the locals as well as tourists from countries nearby. This three storied stores is located at the Grange Road, very close to the shopping belt of Singapore, Orchard Road. I had a chance to enter and, of course to shop, in this store when I went to Singapore two weeks ago. Although I was not allowed to photographed the inside store, I had many photos of the window display.

Summer is the main concept of H&M window display when I came. Thus, all mannequins wear only colorful bikinis and relax comfort tees or swimming trunks for the male one. The styling of the clothes and properties are simple but very attractive. There are also images of Isabeli Fontana, one of the hot Brazilian supermodels, who becomes one of the summer faces of H&M.

Tommy Hilfiger: Summer camp

Summer camp is concept that can be seen from the Tommy Hilfiger window display at Knightsbridge, Singapore. Mannequins look relax and ready for the heat by wearing polos, T-shirts, and bikinis. Stickers of rowing tools and rolls of sleeping bag are on the ground as decorations. This scene can be an excellent idea if you want to go for summer holiday.

Modern Minimalist: European designers

 Givenchy - Paragon Shopping Centre

Salvatore Ferragamo - Paragon Shopping Centre

 Bottega Veneta - ION Orchard

Yves Saint Laurent - ION Orchard

Valentino - ION Orchard

Jil Sander - Hilton Singapore The Shopping Gallery

Stella McCartney - Hilton Singapore The Shopping Gallery

The modern minimalist concept of boutiques and window displays are also used by lots of designers from Europe. Although Milan and Paris, or London, may become the source of all the elaborate details and embroidery or crazy designs, a clean look of a store still becomes an icon of luxury.

Modern minimalist: American designers

 Marc Jacobs - ION Orchard

Alexander Wang - Hilton Singapore The Shopping Gallery

 Herve Leger - ION Orchard

 Tory Burch - Wisma Atria

Minimalist is a big big trend that never disappear in the world of high fashion brand. Although the seasonal fashion shows are always grande, lots of spectacles, and full of amazing scenes and properties, some designers choose to back to the clean and simple world when it comes to dress their boutiques or window display. Marc Jacobs is the right example for this kind of concept. Fashion avacionados will not forget his amazing New York shows that may feature a marching band or a pastoral hills. But just look at his boutique in ION Orchard, Singapore, where 5 female mannequins standing and posing in all the similar style. Nothing spectacular about the display properties also. The hottest new comer in the New York scene, Alexander Wang, also has the ultra modern minimalist concept for his first ever boutique in Singapore. Black and white marble and properties dominate the all appearances. They might look so bland and too simple, but sometimes it is the best way to perform the luxurious and high quality products.
