Alfred Dunhill: Intellectual display

Alfred Dunhill has a very excellent blazer collection that is called Camdeboo. It is made of Angora goats of Camdeboo that live under the Shepherd Tree in South Africa. To promote this collection, this brand does not put the blazer at the window display. Instead, there is 12 panels that each depicts the live of the Angora goats under the trees. To see the complete picture you need to look at this display from left to right. The first panel of the left is an empty grassy field with a Shepherd Tree stands tall in the middle. Then suddenly there is a group of goats walking towards it and gather under it. The story of this blazer and its material source is also can be found at a writing below those panels. This is an intellectual way to display a product yet, of course, you also need to have intellectual customers too.

Alfred Dunhill: Welcome back again

After closed its operation at Senayan City, Alfred Dunhill re-opens again its boutique at Plaza Senayan this month. The new boutique features the classic elegance style design that is also used in other Dunhill boutiques. The window display ground is filled with rolls of papers. If you are willing to bend your head and read the writings inside them, you can find the interview result between Dunhill and Jamie Hewlett, an artist and filmmaker become one of the Dunhill faces for Fall/Winter 2012. There is also a man hand bag that is floating on top of those papers. This window, for me, looks very poetic and beautiful but not loose its masculinity.

Among the fabulous and amazing window displays I saw at Ngee Ann City, Singapore, there are some high end boutiques with very decent window display style. It can be the original concept of the brand or the lack of creativity or other reasons. However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder :)
