The Goods Dept: Black

Another dark mood window display is found at the recent arrangement of The Goods Dept. Black dresses, black shirt-dress with black slip dress inside, black suit, black shoes, black reindeer, and the black wordings are the main dominant sighting when you look at this window display. On the wall, there are two sentences of 'Let's do the time wrap again' that is confusing me for the meaning and the connection with the display. Another confusing matter is about the broken horn of the reindeer, is it purposely broken or not? Simple display but sophisticated and mysterious.

Tod's: Colorful doors

Tod's has a very simple concept for its latest window display. There is a door or two for each window. Each of them are painted in some color that are so bright, very contrast to the beige ivory color of Tod's boutique walls. The door also has a very beautiful classic motifs.

Bulgari: Three artistic concepts

Three of five window displays of Bulgari at Pacific Place, Jakarta are decorated with different concept. The first is decorated with galactic or futuristic golden colored installations in front of a board panel with the infamous cutting of The Muse painting. Second window in the middle also has a futuristic or might be modern furniture concept with a very unique form of face, lamp, and table. The color background of this window also look brighter, using orange color, than the first window. The last window is dedicated for the Bulgari Bridal collection. Hundreds of flower petals or might be butterfly wings all in white colors are falling from the ceiling to the ground. This installation is inspired by the work of Yuko Takada Keller. Beautiful.

The Goods Dept: New location, new display

The infamous local multi-indie-brands-store, The Goods Dept., is previously located at Plaza Indonesia. Due to some factors, relocation was done and it has a new and bigger location at Pacific Place. The window display also has more spacious space than the old location. Painted in dominant pink and white color, the display looks stand out among the other color of this store's outer part. The display looks so modern and use very simple arrangement. However, it is still carrying a positive message for the store and also for passers-by that is 'The Future Is Bright."

Papilion Duo: Sitting in the sky

Papilion Duo's window display is the result of this multi-brands store with Harper's Bazaar Indonesia. The latest arrangement was designed by Davy Linggar, a very talented Indonesian fashion photographer. There is a mannequin sitting behind two blocks of white clouds. Above the mannequins, there is a moving sparkling-globe made of disco lights surrounded with many toys in white colors. I cannot catch the meaning of the display. Hope the creator of it can help me to deliver the real concept of this beautiful display.

Metro: A beautiful garden in summer

The Metro Dept. Store window display for Spring/Summer 2012 use fairy tale magical garden as the main inspiration and concept. I had already photographed and posted some of the display from various Metro locations. For me, the best execution of this concept is at Metro Dept. Store in Pacific Place. The mannequins styling, the properties, the lighting look so exclusive and has luxe feeling. Perfect !

Gap: Active kids

Children or kids window displays are medicine when I feel boring with fashion window display for adults because this kind of display is usually very colorful and playful. The example is the Gap Kids window display at Pacific Place. Although the background wall is so simple with image of a colorful wooden door and the contract color wall, the mannequins pose are so lively. The mannequins look like a group of active kids who are playing their interests in sport, games, or even modelling pose. Excellent.

Papilion Duo: White dressing room

An all white dressing room is installed at the Papilion Duo window display. This very detail room is very beautiful, cozy, and so feminine. A table under the soft-floral-curtained window pane with blue sky outside is filled with a fashion magazine, a Dyptique candle, a tea set, and other stuffs. On the wall, there are collections of beautiful vintage photo frames and other feminine decorations. A pair of Repetto ballet flats, a gold colored Comme des Garcons Play T-shirt, a white jacket and a bag are signs that this room belongs to a chic style young girl.

One critic for the VM team is the use of a flat screen monitors that are not well set up. Thus, there will be some period when one or two of the window pane blocks turns into black and the 'DVD' icon appears.
